Ive just finished a couple of illustrations by using Corel Painter X3. So, now I can say what Corel had to offer me. If you are aware of the performance of this software you probably should spend about €185 for upgrade your 12 version. The other features from my perspective are not worth it. Here are some cool things I can say about the latest version: 1. Painter X3 became 64bit software! Wow, such a relief! :) for Windows-users. Mac-version is still 32bit, which means it uses only 2Gb of your RAM. They managed to trick Mac OS to use less cashing and more drive space, which makes it almost 64bit one. I dont know what OS X Mavericks has say on it. Probably we would have an update from Corel in near future. Hmm. Well, I have noticed some performance improvements. Now its much easy to work with big files contained a lot of layers. 2. Painter X3 learned to chew Photoshop effects that you throw to it in PSD-files. It still doesnt support text layers though. 3. Now you can transform across layers. Nice! 4. The brush panels became more intuitive. There are few other features like clone brushes, perspective tool, reference window (lame!), brush search which I dont use in my work. So, its a good upgrade I would say. Stay awesome guys! ;) corel/corel/product/index.jsp?pid=prod5090087&cid=catalog3550067&segid=10900020#tab2
