Ive just had to return early (last night) from a planned four days in Lincolnshire, and seen on Facebook that one of my friends said she had stopped reading the comments about Vera and Thumper not displaying because they were making her angry. Having done 470 miles in about 36 hours Im not in the frame of mind to read a load of whinges - and frankly my opinion would be the same anyway. So heres my tuppence. Andrew, Louise, Sean, and all the team at East Kirkby are undoubtedly just as disappointed as we all are, if not more so because they are such enthusiasts their whole days are spent volunteering to keep Just Jane running for us all. Spare a thought how how disappointed they must be! However in extremely trying circumstances they still managed to put on an extremely well run and enjoyable experience for all. True, the guests of honour did not put in an appearance, but thats not their fault. We know now that Andrew is engaged in trying to secure a second date for the flypast and that tickets for yesterday will still be valid. He didnt have to do that, and in fact anything could have prevented the flypast including bad weather, in which case Act of [insert Deity here], hard luck. For myself yes I am disappointed, doubly so having to return home early, and will not be able to get to a second date; Am I asking for a refund? Am I hell.. the £42 spent on two tickets can go - as I said to the lady in the NAAFI - towards getting Jane airborne as a donation (small as it is) and my tickets returned to the pool so that anyone unable to get tickets for today and on the reserve list will get first dibs. So here it is to all the team at East Kirkby. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!
