Ive known for quite awhile now that our grandson, Dylan is pretty - TopicsExpress

Ive known for quite awhile now that our grandson, Dylan is pretty smart. (Of course, you know he IS part Joyner. Lol) Only recently I discovered that he has something I dont think a lot of 3 year olds have - he understands how to spare other peoples feelings. (I want to call it emotional intelligence but Im not sure that is really a thing.) Im sure a lot of kids his age care about other peoples feelings, but this is different. Let me explain. On Thanksgiving, Santa paid us a visit. (It was really PopPop, sshh!) Dylan acted like he thought it was Santa. He talked to him and later he told PopPop about the Santa visit. As a matter of fact anytime Santa was brought up while Dylan was at our house he acted like he believed it. So, a few days later Jenny hears Dylan talking to his daddy. His daddy says Hey I heard that Santa visited you while you were at Granny & PopPops house. Dylan says No, that was PopPop. Okay, Im not that amazed that he knew it was his grandfather (Jenny called it by the way). What I still cant get over is that he cared enough about his grandfathers feelings that he pretended to believe that Santa had come over to our house! Many, many years ago, David and I used to teach 3 year old Childrens Church. Most of the time a kid at this age having discovered such a thing couldnt hardly wait to say Hey, thats not Santa! Thats PopPop! I just think hes amazing!
