Ive known some of you for a while now. Others not so long and only through facebook. Ive agreed with you and disagreed with many of the things youve shared on this interesting format that seems to encapsulate the ID with no filter. I hope my comments and thoughts were taken in the spirit in which they were intended... educational, occasionally sarcastic, blind squirrel nut finding witty every once in a while but never meant to be personal or deliberately antagonistic. I want to ask those of you reading this to think long and hard about something. Is this the Tucson YOU want? What are YOU doing to truly change the thing you do not like? Ranting on facebook? Writing long screeds on a blog? Or have you done something to truly persuade someone to your point of view? To borrow from Jaime Escalante in the movie Stand and Deliver ... Do you have the ganas? the desire? What will motivate you to truly change things as they stand? This year, whether you live in the City of Tucson or not (the reality is that what happens in Tucson affects ALL of Southern Arizona) you CAN make a difference for the future. Get up... get off that chair (your butt needs some exercise anyway) and knock on some doors, make some phone calls. Persuade just ONE MORE PERSON to mail in their ballot. THAT can and WILL make a difference. Do NOT be that person that has the nagging conscience next Wednesday morning that says __I__ could have done something and didnt. BE at GOP Headquarters from 9 am to 8 pm every day this week and help us change Tucsons future for ALL our sakes.
