Ive made an observation as business owner and I think I would have - TopicsExpress

Ive made an observation as business owner and I think I would have been a lot better off if I had made it as a freelancer years ago. When you own a small business and one of your suppliers doesnt ship things as promised, and you count on it to produce your goods, you lose money. Its a fact of life. Even if you take precautions such as ordering extra early or calling and confirming the delivery date, sometimes things just dont happen the way they are promised and you are left in a lurch. For example, if you expected a shipment the Friday before you are to leave, and it in fact arrives Wednesday less than 24 hours before you have to be on the road, there is no way you can have all of your product available for sale. And product not available is (especially if you sell out of what you have) lost income. You only have three options in this situation. 1. You can shrug your shoulders and accept the world just isnt a fair place. 2. You can blame the supplier for your problem, letting the warm glow of your spite warm your broke ass heart. 3. You can stay up all night working to get as much done as you can, so that while you wont have everything perfect, at least you will know that you did everything in your power to mitigate the damage as best you could; hopefully earning enough that you can try to make up for it next time. Unrelated to that. Im covered in ink, waiting for my screens to dry.
