Ive made no attempt to hide my love for DC, and I do enjoy some Marvel stories. That being said, there is a subtlety and nuance that I find in certain comic strips/indie books that the big two only accomplish every so often. Dont get me wrong, I love peeling back the layers of a good DC book; there amongst the larger than life stories, I often find myself staring at a stunning mosaic of our human experiences, but in the confines of a strip or the soft but powerful voice of an indie book, there is a quiet, poetic beauty that imprints itself on to the reader like nothing else can. Its sad that many people are so trapped in the maw of the big two that they miss out.
