I love the part a bit later where Suzanne comments on how Julia’s stockings were too dark for her dress, and Julia responds, “Why THAT could be embarassing! I can just hear people now: ‘Do you see that woman with her head caught in the staircase? The one the Governor just stepped over? Don’t you think her pantyhose are too dark for her dress?’” LOL
