Ive received a number of comments from colleagues, officials and readers calling me an ambulance chaser among other things. Which is fine, Ive been called much worse. What people dont understand, is that every time you watch Worlds Wildest Police videos, Caught on Camera or other related shows, is that there is a group of people in Los Angeles and other large cities who put their lives on the line every night to get those shots that people watch on the news the next day and on those TV shows. Since nobody bothered to ask, let me take it upon myself to share with readers and the authorities why I got into this business, and HOPEFULLY clear the record. NOT to invade peoples privacy, NOT because I like seeing bad things happen to people, NOT to catch the authorities doing something wrong... but to get THESE kinds of shots. I achieved my goal on new years eve when CBS News Los Angeles picked up my video of the car that flipped on top of the house.
