Ive received much love and support recently, over the last month especially bouncing around but my move to the Okanagan is imminent! Someone I hadnt spoken with since elementary school but have since become Facebook friends with in this last year, told me they love my posts and offered to give me a room for a week and drive me to the okanagan this Saturday. After a thirty minute conversation late Sunday night, I was told when I woke up that me staying there wasnt going to work for this person. After packing up my bag, I asked what had changed their mind so quickly and was told that they felt I wasnt on the spiritual path they originally thought judging from my posts and that a ride to Kelowna wasnt on the table anymore... Quite the judgement I thought! I have been rough and tumble since I can remember. I spent most of teens and 20s becoming as hard as I could. Been in too many fights to count, I was charged with assault 6 times, convicted 3 and the list could go on. Now in my early 40s my goal is to become as soft as I can, to help others as much as I can leaving the smallest wake possible behind me. Despite being judged so quickly and harshly I felt, I left Monday with grace. I dont need anyones stamp of approval for my journey, spiritual or otherwise. My heart is true but it beats to the rhythm of a pugilist, albeit one who traded in his gloves for dancing shoes many years ago. If anyone else who hasnt talked to me in 30 years is expecting The Buddha... You might be surprised to find The Dude instead :)
