Ive seen a lot of anti-Arab posts recently, especially on closed pages, regarding the influx of Arab refugees in Kurdistan and I would just like to make a brief point. The majority of Arabs seeking asylum in Kurdistan are innocent families trying to keep their children alive. This majority look up to the Kurds and appreciate the protection, food and shelter that weve been capable of providing thus far and our actions say more to them and to the international community than any possible combination of words. Instead of looking at the situation negatively and being completely racist, these narrow minded Kurds should try to understand that the humanitarian crisis is actually that bad. If theres 1.5 million refugees and growing, there is a serious problem and we need to be not only sympathetic but empathetic because not too long ago was there a wave of emigrating Kurds from that exact area, flooding the surrounding states and Western countries. If we turn away refugees, that is blood on our hands because its not like they willfully left their lives, homes and jobs to sleep on the floor of churches, mosques and schools in hopes of living in refugee camps, they were forced to leave. To put it simply, they need our aid and we cant deny them it.
