Ive seen several posts recently about how music affects the brain, particularly in patients with brain disorders, such as Alzheimers.If youre interested, here are a couple of short videos which reveal some fascinating recent scientific discoveries behind why music causes previously unresponsive patients to become alive and joyful. Playing (or singing) music engages practically every area of the brain. - and is so far the only activity known to do so. When our entire brains are engaged, we create long-term memories that are more engrained and easily accessible. Indeed, musicians exhibit enhanced memory functions; creating, storing, and retrieving memories more quickly and efficiently.
