Ive seen some discussion today about belief and fact. Theists believe there is a god and their scripture is inspired by that deity. That is a belief. It strikes me as odd that this belief is any part of a potentially factual conversation. I learn the most and grow as a person more when I set aside my personal beliefs (for a second) and try to view an idea without bias. It is a challenge, to be sure. But I try not to ignore facts when it comes to my beliefs. And I try not to confuse facts with beliefs. If theists can pry themselves away from their beliefs, just for the sake of conversation, and entertain the facts presented to them, they stand a better chance of getting something out of the experience.
