Ive struggled my whole life when it comes to failing. I would - TopicsExpress

Ive struggled my whole life when it comes to failing. I would avoid doing things because the chance of failing was much higher than my perceived chance of success. Some things in life are impossible to prepare for and de-risk as Ive learned in the past 24 months and especially the last 30 days. What I have learned is that there will always be times in life when it all just fell apart. Youll question everything down to your identity, to your core. This time around, Im emerging from a period of fall-out unlike any other. When I thought things couldnt get any worse, they did. When I thought things would get better, they got worse. But right now, I can honestly say that I know myself better before and Im mentally and emotionally more sound than ever. What advice can I bestow upon you the next time your life falls apart or youre afraid to fail? Dont worry about. Theres literally nothing you can do about something that may or may not happen at some potential time in the future (see how crazy that sounds?). Why worry about it? Instead, focus on the things you know matter deep down inside and do those well every single day. Hold them near and dear and do not compromise. This is your internal compass and it will keep you going in the right direction no matter how big of an obstacle is in front of you. Even when you feel like you have no control, you do. Inside of yourself. I think this lovely nun says it best - your life will fall apart. Thats being human. Its your job to know what matters the most to you so you can make it through those times and over time make them less intense and learn how to fail well. (PS - her books are awesome). https://youtube/watch?v=CslwEtRVQAQ#t=16
