Ive thought about this a lot before posting because I didnt want to come across as a ruiner of all things fun, a hater or receive hate for it or whatever, but some of the people with free hug signs at MCM yesterday were unbearable. Some people have social anxiety, and its horrible to think that they may have built up the courage to attend to have someone jump in front of them (some with masks on which was a little more scary cause they had NO expression- haunting) with a stupid sign and have them expect to hug them. What was worse, was the man-child (atleast 18-19) who didnt flash the sign until AFTER hed jumped on my sister from behind, standing on her dress train and pulling her backwards. If someone is not making eye contact with you, DONT jump in front of them. If they see the sign and ignore you, dont be offended, they might not feel as comfortable with grabbing hold of strangers as you are. Have a little respect for your fellow con go-ers! THIS IS NOT A POST AGAINST EVERYONE WITH THE SIGNS/HUGS IN GENERAL. I had a lovely hug with Doctor Eleven yesterday! But it was 8 out of 10 hug sign holders were too eager to cross personal boundaries.
