Ive watched a show....for nine years of my life. For years, the writers have had in mind what they were going to do...and tonight did it. I am deeply saddened about how How I Met Your Mother ended, and I demand a redo. Haha...and to cement my fanboyness, i shall now explain why this was on the same level of awfulness as the Seinfeld ending. 1. Barney and Robin got divorced...for real? After ALL the sentimental crap about love and being honest and it being legendary they get divorced after what, 3 years? Thats ridiculous. Dont give me a true love story and then destroy it in front of my eyes. 2. Barney goes back to being a player? Seriously!? And not just a player, an old player who is incredibly self-centered and it trying to relive the glory days? Oh! And he has a baby with a woman we never see - what the snot, Swarley? Im okay with the baby, but the person Barney became after Robin...just no... 3. Robin is seriously the worst person on this series. Her job is more important that her marriage, and we saw that. Shes so busy she wont try to talk to her friends...even just Lily? What a crappy life for a person that we were supposed to care about and love. Career - yes. Family? Friends? Nope... 4. The Mother (Tracy...meh) dies. Im cool with that, but she gets like a whole minute of dialogue in the whole finale? And her death...yeah...vaguely talked about it, and then didnt give her a proper sendoff. They made us invest in her, to feel her and know her, and then poof gone. Buh-bye. Awful. Just awful. Honestly, I would have kept Barney and Robin together, kill Barney and The Mother off, and THEN let Ted and Robin be together. I would have least felt like Barney kept face and Robin would have kept face. We would have been 1000x more willing to accept the ending if they had done that. Im cool with Robin and Ted being together, but dont do it at the moral expense of two of your main characters. Thats just cruel. I demand a redo, and i sincerely hope this was an April Fools Joke
