Ivorian Footballer ‘Sol’ Bamba Receives Care at Aspetar for Ankle Injury Praising his treatment at Aspetar, the defender is confident of a return to the pitch in time for Brazil Côte dIvoire international footballer Souleymane ‘Sol’ Bamba, who plays for Turkish Süper Lig Club Trabzonspor, is currently recuperating at Aspetar following treatment for an ankle injury. Praising the care he has received at Aspetar, Bamba said, “Aspetar is a fantastic sports medicine hospital that caters to the specific injuries and subsequent needs of athletes, and it does this all while maintaining a high level of service.” The defender underwent surgery to correct the injury that has plagued the footballer since the start of the season. Bamba is now receiving comprehensive rehabilitation treatment at Aspetar, and promises to return to the pitch in time for the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil this summer. “Brazil will be our third World Cup tournament and we are in group C, which is not an easy one to be in,” Bamba continued. “All the teams in this group have a good chance to qualify for the knockout phase and I want to reassure my country that I will be ready to play this summer.” Bamba’s treatment at Aspetar comes as part of an agreement signed between the hospital and the Ivory Coast Football Association last month. The partnership stipulates that Aspetar will provide top-class orthopaedic medical support on and off the pitch, leading up to and during the FIFA World Cup finals, beginning in June.
