Izzy Virdee (my baby) 2003 to 26th August 2014 There was this little beautiful doggy, who had had a hard time up until around she was 18 months. She had been in 3 homes before, been beaten, abused and burnt with cigarettes then she was abandoned to Surrey Rescue. By chance, someone put an advert up in a local pet shop in Cranleigh which was seen by a neighbour. She had a visit and a walk from her prospective family. On initial meeting her Dad did not really take to her, but then once accepted by the rescue home her Dad went to collect her from her cage. Within days, she became her Dad’s shadow and they went everywhere together. In those days she was small enough to sit on his lap when working at the computer. Also cheeky little monkey chewing anything insight, but who could tell her off. Even going to the pub she would bark as Dad was drinking his Guinness until she got her half pint and a packet of quavers. Within weeks of becoming part of the family, she always slept on her Dad’s side of the room. One day he did not wake up [previously being diagnosed with heart condition] in the morning. She raised the alarm by barking the house down and finally, apparently by jumping on him, which may have helped kick start the heart again. Later she came to stay with her grandparents. At first Granddad did not take to her nor did he like dogs at all. One day when her Dad came her from work and was not greeted as usual, he looked round the house and eventually found her ON the sofa with her head in granddad’s lap. Since then he was the one who walked her everyday twice a day without fail. Keeping him fit and busy. Her grandfather pandered to her looking after her every need. She changed people’s opinions and helped make them comfortable who had never been around dogs or those scared or dogs. She brought joy to kids who were ill in hospital. She was remarkable as she sniffed out the cancer in a neighbour and a good friend of her Dad’s. She was protective and gave so much love. Her grandmother spoilt her rotten and loved her so much. When her grandmother had episodes of diabetes or heart trouble, Izzy was always there next to her and again raised the alarm when she had to. Till her last day she was there next to the family giving the joy she had always brought into everyone’s lives. Izzy has left us all with great memories and a lot of love. She will be missed by everyone far and wide. Izzy was the best.
