I’m Ahmad Shah Idil, a 5th year Engineering/Arts student, and I’m running to make sure that your education at UNSW remains world-class, affordable and accessible to all. I’m campaigning on a platform of ensuring the quality of our undergraduate teaching remains high under the pressures of increasing cuts to academic staff. I will to fight to prevent courses in all faculties from being cut because they are deemed “unprofitable” because a university should be run as a centre for education, not as a corporate body. I oppose university fee deregulation and if you elect me I will do all in my power on the Academic Board to fight these unfair and inequitable changes to our education system. Your right to an education should never depend on how much money you have. On the 22nd of September, use your vote to have your voice heard at UNSW!
