I’m afraid I have to agree with the ‘sceptic’ here. The Christian Media is notorious for not telling the full story. There are other issues here. And in the end I understand why states consider homeschooling a threat, especially given our modern cultural climate. That said, we will continue to do it anyway. Sending our children to public school is simply not an option. But I also contend that were the Dominionists able to grab control of the country there is no way they would allow atheistic private and charter schools to pop up. When they found out that lesbian parents were teaching Communism to their children they would act to stop it and regulate education. Protestants have not wrestled with the historical and cultural forces that led them to create our modern public schools systems both in Germany and the United States. The issues have not disappeared. Groups like HSLDA are not separatists. They are Transformationalists seeking to conquer the culture. Homeschooling for them is not about cultural antithesis (as it would be for me). For them it’s a survival tactic, a tool by which they will raise up an army of culture warriors who in a few generations will take over American culture.
