I’m going to be blunt about the topic, and just state the obvious. Countries will get involved in a particular issue ONLY, if it’s in THEIR OWN interest to do so! And then the media will sugar coat it with BS! The political fight over Ukraine is happening ONLY because it’s strategically important area for both the Western and the Eastern Worlds! Governments of the Western countries don’t give any f#cks about the “rights and freedom of Ukrainian people”, and the demonstrations or petitions won’t affect their decisions! Their main agenda is to have a buffer from the East in the face of Ukraine, and establish military bases, in case, if Russia/Putin wants to act naughty! The West also needs to prevent Ukraine from entering the customs free zone, which currently is being created, with Russia/Kazakhstan/Belarus (and possibly Ukraine), and would establish a much more powerful counterpart to the EU! You think that the Ukrainian people started Maydan? Think again! At the same time Russian government, don’t give any f#cks about the Russian people in Crimea or Ukraine! It NEEDS to have a military intervention, to make sure that the Western countries don’t take the influence over Ukraine, as well as its strategic military positions and the Russian economic interest. Then the media from both sides will feed the public with lots of bullshit, to ensure that the common folks take sides, put their lives on the line, and be the tools in bloody “political games”. None of the governments or their leaders are necessarily evil, saint, weak or dumb! And their decisions are not personal - it’s just politics! And the rest is handled by the media…
