I’m not sure that this idea is much different than having a Starbucks in a church, as various churches have advertised. However, the real issue is…Why are such gimmicks necessary? The articles quotes the man of the this idea as saying, Christianity is unable to capture modern audiences, Di Lucca told NBC News. It is a shame that the modern day church has become so powerless that they must resort to gimmicks. Dr. Lee Roberson used to say, “If people are not being reached, either the gospel has lost its power, or the gospel is not being preached.” Dr. Homer Lindsey Jr. used to warn the pastors at the annual Pastor’s Conference of FBC-Jax. He said, “Men be careful what you try to reach people with. What you reach them with is what you have to keep them with.” He continued, “Anywhere you have Jesus and sinners, you can build a church. Teach your people to love Jesus and to love sinners, and you can see your church grow.” Just some thoughts on this bad “Big Mac” idea. What do you think. :)
