I’m posting a couple of songs today as examples of one of the reasons I started this group. I put the Capital Cities song “Safe and Sound” on one of my last monthly mixed CD’s back in September of 2011. I had started a new job and keeping up with all the new music had become time consuming and I felt like I needed a break from it. When I started back up again sometime in the summer of 2013 I was surprised to find that the song “Safe and Sound” was now a hit song and getting heavy radio play. It was yet another example of how much good music you miss when relying on radio to deliver you new music. I didn’t want to rely on mainstream media to clue me in to new music because they really don’t know what that is and yet I didn’t want to spend hours a week trying to do it myself. I thought about a blog but then again its way too time consuming and more work for me but then after seeing various Facebook groups I realized that was the path to take. So if anyone cared that is the long version for how I decided to start “What I’m Listening To Right Now”. So here’s “Safe and Sound” song number one from my playlists from 2011 that somehow took two years to become a hit.
