I’m saddened by what I’m seeing in the news lately about the issue of racism. I am not saying that there is no racism in this country, people tend to gravitate toward people who are similar hence the expression of “birds of a feather flock together”. There are always going to be the people who embrace diversity, people who value human life regardless of color and there also people who are not going to like people because they are different, that is just human nature. I am blessed to attend one of the most diverse church in America, over 1000 people of all colors who come together in unison to worship and praise God and to serve with each other side by side. I’m blessed to have raised my son in a multicultural, diverse town of W. Orange. I’m blessed to have friends who happen to be black and I’m blessed that my children are color blind. There is much racist rhetoric going on right now. Let’s focus on the positive. Let’s promote love, peace and unity. I’m calling out to the so call leaders of the country who are fueling this madness, to learn from Dr. MLK and promote peace and not promote the “no justice, no peace”. There are many, many wonderful relationships between blacks and whites, please don’t fuel division. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
