I’m sending you this song which may help you. It’s sure helped me a lot. It’s a brutal thing to endure when our dreams, our hopes, our hard work and best efforts and even our very lives burn up in the flames of adversity and opposition. The cruelty of life can sometimes be decimating. This is a very deep song whose lyrics can have multiple meanings but for me this song has been about the moment when your life bursts into high flames and everything is reduced to scattered ashes. It can happen very suddenly and with little warning or it can happen gradually and with grinding and relentless battle. I’ve experienced both. However, it’s not a song of despair, it’s one of compassion. It says something we really need to hear. The flames will go up and our tears will fall down and in many cases most everyone will just walk away leaving us stranded and betrayed. As the flames disappear and the cinders go cold and the wind scatters the smoke and ash away leaving nothing but a bare scorch on the ground someone will be standing there in tears too with His arms open wide saying “I will never leave you nor forsake you” and “welcome home.” The fire may destroy everything else but there is no fire hot enough to destroy the love He has for you.
