I’ve always kept a firm rule that supplies are viewed as tools, - TopicsExpress

I’ve always kept a firm rule that supplies are viewed as tools, not toys. Although students understand this concept, they are kids and it sure helps to remove all temptations! That’s why I keep student supplies in separate buckets in a cabinet. Students can always ask to use them, but it removes a lot of distractions from their desks during instructional time. Does anyone out there allow scissors, markers, etc. to say in student desks? If so, what grade do you teach?
