I’ve been fascinated with the fall of Rome since I first heard - TopicsExpress

I’ve been fascinated with the fall of Rome since I first heard of it. Then followed the Dark Ages. But it is said that for 700 years the Roman Empire ruled the land known as Europe and Asia today, the wealth and decadence seen at this time of jewels and buildings was far beyond our cheap thrills of today. Master artisans and smiths that had skills long ago lost. All without computers, or modern processing technologies or the industrial revolution. We believe ourselves to be awesome today because we have smart phones and cars. But the art and craftsmanship of old was so skilled we can barely touch it’s magnificence today. A trip to the Louvre in Paris is a gleaming example. The palace itself contains workmanship that nobody today even understands and is a long lost art. Which is why all our modern buildings are like Ikea furniture in comparison. Will there be another “Dark Ages” when and if another collapse happens? Or would some say, this IS the dark ages…lots of mystery to yet be seen.
