I’ve been thinking about the Referendum a lot recently. Not so - TopicsExpress

I’ve been thinking about the Referendum a lot recently. Not so much as a vote to determine Scotland’s future but more as an intervention in the rest of the UK’s decline. When someone is so consumed by their addictions as to be unaware of how much misery they are causing people around them then an intervention is usually the last resort. Originating in America during the 60’s it is typically carried out by friends or family to make the person who is troubled see the wretchedness of their situation. While I wouldn’t call the current UK govt either my friend or part of my family, there are strong ties between the ordinary people across these Isles. It’s these people that are suffering due to Westminster’s neglect and addictions. Not the bankers, lawyers, politicians, brokers etc but the couples struggling to make ends meet while their hard earned taxes are spent on wars, politicians expenses, bankers bonuses and propping up the financial sector to name just a few. Despite being in arrears to the tune of nearly £1.5 TRILLION the govt goes on about their deep pockets and broad shoulders being good for the UK and in particular Scotland. Doesn’t that sound very much like a gambler saying “It’s ok I’ve got this under control”…… while frantically checking the racing section for a 100/1 shot that will drag him out of debt? While the parents max out their UK credit cards at the most expensive restaurants and on lavish holiday’s, the kids in this relationship visit food banks and vacation at home. Trident is like the sports car in the garage dad wont drive because he looks stupid in it. He is however thinking of buying another one he wont drive very soon, an upgraded version of course, which goes faster than the last one he didn’t drive but it’ll make the neighbours really jealous. He knows he can’t really afford it but he’ll whack it on the credit card and worry about it later. At what point do we say enough is enough? Can we put the kids in care with a relative? Well we could I guess but auntie and uncle UKIP are really not the sort of people you want to send the kids to are they? They’re very much like their current parents but with a nasty streak of racism for good measure! Time for a change? Bloody right it is. Vote Yes
