I’ve spent a huge amount of my life daydreaming. In a way it’s helped me a lot, visualizing imaginary scenarios does a lot for my ambition. It’s cheered me up in seemingly dire situations. However at the same time, I would attribute it to the certain disconnect I feel between my reality and fantasy. In other words, I’ve imagined so many things that have never happened, it feels like they won’t ever occur. I’ve been trying to move away from this kind of thinking though. Learning the implications of expectations and trying to abandon that kind of pursuit; accepting that good things will come, just under different parameters. You can’t obsess over the details or plan the perfect encounter. Been following a lot of what is posted by The Mind Unleashed, and I’ve learned a lot from reading what they’ve been sharing. One of the best things it taught me was that it is not your situation that matters, but instead how you act within it. So you don’t need to plan interactions, etc. so far ahead, as long as you can take life in stride. Rather than strife. Control is limited to what you can physically do, so there’s no sense clinging to control over something beyond. Relax. Be yourself. Daydream but don’t hold on to the specifics. Open your eyes. Expand your horizons and see what’s in front of you, knowing that what happens now also matters. Have no expectations, and you will never be disappointed.
