**JACK CAN BE ADOPTED RIGHT NOW VIA THE NYC ACC PUBLIC WEBSITE** Jack is a stray who was found wandering the 232st in Queens. Now in Manhattan shelter, he has been put on the euth list for tomorrow. Please help save Jack before it is too late.... A volunteer writes: Jack has such an expressive face...his eyes make soft, sweet contact with mine, his forehead is all wrinkly making me want to smooth away the worry wrinkles, kiss the top of his head, and tell him everything will be alright. Hes a total wiggle butt in his kennel when he sees me stop at his door leash in hand, and makes me feel like Im the most important person in his life! We rush outside where he goes potty immediately telling me hes likely housetrained, and off we go to the park. His leash manners are good for the most part; he pulls slightly but is easily managed. Posing for photos like a pro, he keeps an eye on the treat in my hand, sitting before I even ask him to. He knows that treat has his name on it!! He alternates between taking them grabbily and gently; hes too thin, so I understand wanting to grab them. Off leash in the yard he greets another dog with an appropriate wag of his tail, giving a little bark of both welcome and frustration that they cant play. Hes not interested in a ball or a toy, more interested in snuggling with me, or wagging his tail playfully at another dog. Handsome Jack is looking for a new home in which hell be well fed and put on some weight, perhaps have a doggy sibling, and have lots of love, play and snuggle time. Hes a sweetheart who deserves the best that life has to offer. Is that you? Another volunteer writes: Jack has a little worried face in his kennel. He is sitting right in the middle, his neck is stretched and his eyes are a bit anxious. Jack is not scared, though.. He just wants to make sure he is not forgotten, passed over, unnoticed or miss out on a walk, treats and mostly bonding with humans. ...Jack is leashed in a sec. Ready, willing and able....He is quite a friendly chap, eager to please and get his reward. Jack is the best sitter ever. I barely utter the command and he plops his tush on the ground, head up and all eyes on me. Where is the beef? Jack is very hungry. He has a LOT of weight to catch up with....Jack believes in us, humans. Soon enough, he is on my lap, enjoying hugs, kisses and caresses. He walks quite well on the leash, would not mind to chase a pigeon or two, marks just a little his territory and meets in a very civil way his peers. Jack is a nice little chap who will be your loyal friend forever if you choose him to share your life with. He is at the Manhattan Care Center, full of hope to be yours.
