JAMMU: Three persons including a doctor and two para-medicos have been booked for giving wrong treatment to a pregnant lady and aborting her in a private hospital in city outskirts of this winter capital. “A lady namely Stuti Sharma, wife of Rakesh Sharma, resident of tehsil Nowshera, district Rajouri this morning had gone to a private hospital in Narwal area for medical check up,” DySP Rafiq Manhas, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Jammu East said. Mr Manhas said the ladyi was eight months pregnant and added, “she was given the wrong treatment in place of another patient and was later aborted.” “There were two cases of pregnancy and the woman, who had to be aborted was left unchecked by the doctors instead the victim was given the dose and she was aborted,” he said. He added that the infant died in the womb. “It was a case of negligence. We have registered the case under FIR number 66/2014 under sections 304-A and 313 of RPC,” Mr Manhas said. He added that two of the para-medicos have been taken into the custody, while a senior doctor, identified as Amarjeet Singh, is on the run but manhunt is launched to apprehend him.
