JANUARY 2, 2015 - SOMETHING TO PONDER ONE STEP AT A TIME Genesis 12:1 (MSG) God told Abram: Leave your country, your family, and your fathers home for a land that I will show you. Just as Abraham, we need to learn to trust the Lord to lead us one step at a time. Our scripture today makes this truth so clear. The Lord, in essence, told Abraham until he was obedient to the first step, he wouldnt receive the second step. I think more times than not we complicate hearing what the Lord is saying to us because we want the whole picture revealed at one time. Yet, God is going to give us directions, one step at a time. The Lord desires a people who will obey Him fully, completely and promptly. He doesnt want us arguing with Him for weeks before we move to carry out a simple instruction. He longs for us to take Him at His word, trust Him and take the first step. He is ready, willing and well able to give us steps two, three, four, . . ., until the dream becomes reality.
