JANUARY IN NOVEMBER!? What an incredible pattern reversal the United States is experiencing this morning. I can honestly tell you that these numbers are bitter even for January standards. Lets take a look at the weather story across the country, from west to east starting in Montana and ending in the UP of Michigan. The first image below is a look at expected low temperatures Wednesday morning. Almost all of central and northern Montana will wake up to temperatures of -5 to -20 degrees! The second image below is a look at forecasted high temperatures in South Dakota. Just about the entire state will stay in the teen this afternoon! To put this in to perspective the normal high for this time of the year in this part of the country is 44 degrees. The third image below is a November record that could fall in the Twin Cities. With the next 8 days forecasted to stay below freezing it would break the record of most consecutive sub freezing November days ever in recorded history! The fourth image takes a closer look at the raging snowstorm in the UP of Michigan. An additional 15- 20 of snow could fall in parts of this region by tonight on top of the heavy snow that has already fallen. Finally, take a look at how extensive the Northern Hemisphere snow cover is today (image #5)! In terms of real estate an unbelievable amount of land is covered in the white stuff now (for this time of the year). What does all of this mean for us back here in the Delaware Valley? Is there a connection? Is this the beginning stages of another brutal winter for us? Meteorologist Cecily Tynan will have all those answers for you when she airs the 2014/15 Winter Outlook this Thursday Night at 11pm.
