JEE Advanced May Change from Paper Pencil to Computer Based - TopicsExpress

JEE Advanced May Change from Paper Pencil to Computer Based Examination from 2014 JEE Advanced Entrance Examinations Pattern may change from the next year onwards. Till this year (2013) paper pencil examination mode is conducted. Now Board wants to change the examination pattern to computer based examination. With the view to take a decision regarding this computer based examination pattern and admissions to IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), Joint Admission board is going to conduct a meeting in the beginning of September. Devang Khakhar, IIT Bombay director, has stated that our team has discussed the proposal regarding the implementation of computer based examination Pattern. Everyone has accepted the proposal. Our team has proposed another option to the board i.e. if it is not possible to change the entire system at a time, at least keep it as an option in the first year. In 2013, 12.82 lakh graduates applied to write JEE (Main) examination. Out of 12.82 lakh candidates, only 1.74 lakh students opted for computer based test. For the JEE Advanced test only 1.5 lakh candidates are applied. In charge for conducting JEE (Advanced) for 2014 is IIT Kharagpur. Before taking the final decision on Sunday they will analyse the 2013 database. Official of IIT Kharagpur are also planning to implement computer based test. Management wants to see how many people will show interest to write computer based examination. Officials will consider the deviations and suggestions before taking the final decision. One of the best suggestion is conducting both patterns of examinations in the first year i.e. students can choose either paper pen test or computer based test. If this option is chosen as a final option officials have to be taken more care while conducting the examination. All the students who are aspiring for the admission in IIT’s are early waiting for the final decision of the Board.
