JIMIE NELL LUCAS Jimie Nell Lucas, age 86 of Hubbertville, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin. Jimie Nell was born in Fayette County on October 7, 1927 to the late Wilburn and Idell Watkins Jones. She is a graduate of Hubbertville High School and worked several years at Health-Tex in Guin. After retirement, she worked babysitting “her babies”; for whom she collected teddy bears. After moving to Sunset Manor, it was clear that she ran the lobby there. She enjoyed music, getting outside, especially tending to flowers, and spent her free time helping others in her community. She was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Lucas and a sister, Wynell Harvey. She is survived by a daughter, Vera Bounds and her husband Kenneth of Plain Dealing, LA; four grandchildren, Melisha Todd and her husband Jason of Twin, Lee Miles and his wife, Tina of McCalla, Debbie Benton and her husband David of Winfield, and Jill Shelton of Amory, MS; eleven great grandchildren, Cody, Jake, Hannah, Haley, Skylar, Jarrett, Trevor, Caleb, Grace, Jeremy, and Mary; as well as many other friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sand Springs Cemetery with Marlin Mayfield and C.W. Box officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
