JIMMY BELL TO DISCUSS WORKFORCE INVESTMENT RESOURCES FOR BUSINESSES AT AFRICAN AMERICAN CHAMBER POWER BREAKFAST – JUNE 17 The Jackson Madison County African American Chamber of Commerce (JMCAACC) will focus on workforce investment at its next Power Breakfast. Jimmy Bell, Director of the West Tennessee Workforce Investment Board, will discuss benefits and programs such as on-the-job and incumbent worker training, job posting, job matching, applicant screening, referrals and other services, available to businesses, under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). The “Power Breakfast on Workforce Investment” will be held Monday, June 17, 2013, 7:30am at Royal Reed’s, 507 North Royal in Jackson. The Power Breakfast educates members and community members and provides a networking opportunity for business owner to tell about their businesses. The meeting is free and open to the public. Jimmy Bell is employed by Southwest Human Resource Agency, the administrative entity for Local Workforce Investment Area 11. He has served as the Director of the West Tennessee Workforce Investment Board since December 2011. Previously, he was Assistant Director for the West Tennessee Workforce Investment Board for nine years. Before that, he worked in the manufacturing industry for 31 years -- serving as Director of Quality Assurance for two companies, Reed Manufacturing Company, based in Tupelo, MS and Angelica Image Apparel with manufacturing headquarters in Savannah, TN. He is a 2006 graduate of Leadership Hardin County and a 2008 graduate of UT Martin’s WestStar leadership program. He serves on the General Advisory Committee for the Tennessee Technology Center at Crump and the Advisory Board for Madison County Juvenile Court Services. Jimmy Bell lives in Savannah with his wife Beverly. They have two children and four grandchildren. Founded in 1999, JMCAACC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
