JK Govt constitutes ‘branch cutting committee’ Jammu, Jan 28: The State Government Tuesday constituted a high-level official committee for branch cutting of trees to avoid electric faults, a job which used to be earlier done routinely by PDD linemen. An order issued by the General Administration Department (No: I 03-GAD of 2014 dated: 23 - 01 – 2014) states: “Sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of the following committees for ensuring pruning/cutting of branches of trees to avoid faults, conductor snapping and damages to the transmission lines in power system.” The committee to be headed by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir comprises Chief Conservator of Forests, Director Social Forestry, Chief Engineer E&MRE, Chief Engineer S&O and Director Horticulture as members.
