JOB ALERT (Charleston, SC) - Local Candidates Only Position Title: Documentation Export Editor The Documentation Export Editor is responsible for preparing all documentation required for exporting shipments from the US to various destinations. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: (Management may amend or assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time) • Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of the regulations, guidelines, and/or company procedures and policies pertaining to exports and documentation and to be familiar with the applicable sources of support available whether in the form of reference books or individuals. • Responsible for reading, interpreting and preparing applicable and required documentation as set forth in shipper’s letter of instructions, letters of credit and/or any other acceptable instructions or requirements of the clients. • Responsible for inputting and creating the Master bill of lading to send to AES and to the ocean carrier. • Responsible for creating and sending required documents based on the destination country requirements to the appropriate parties. Qualifications and Key Skills: (The following are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills or ability required for this position) • High School Diploma or GED required. • Minimum of one year experience in Freight Forwarding export documentation required. • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel a must. • Must possess basic skills with items such as copiers, scanners, fax machines, and calculators. • Ability to meet deadlines and adhere to tight schedules. • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to prioritize. Good analytical skills. • Good oral communication skills, particularly when dealing with a variety of people in situations over the phone. • Willingness to assist other departments to meet customer requirements. • Must be able to interact with the management, supervisors and other staff members in a reasonable and acceptable manner.
