JOB ALERT: Communication/Fundraising Officer at Cordaid Academic and professional qualifications; o Bachelor’s degree in communication/Journalism or related field o At least 3 years’ experience working in communication/fundraising in humanitarian or development environment o Experience in managing websites and using social media in a professional context o Experience working with local and international journalists an added advantage o Proven ability to produce messages and press materials o Knowledge of fundraising techniques in the private market for development cooperation and relevant communication channels o Social communication skills, able to give internal communication recommendations and to make and coordinate cooperation agreements within the team o Writing skills to draft reports, write and edit texts, case studies and draft the communication plan and communication advices o Team player Key roles and responsibilities; o Translate annual plan into communication/fundraising goals for specific target groups, draft communication/fundraising plan, monitor and determine required resources to achieve set goals and objectives o Takes part in fundraising campaigns with the aim of increasing brand awareness and appreciation of Cordaid and its brands o Develop and optimize current/new fundraising channels and formulate strategy to maintain existing donors. Keep donor files. o Keeps focus on trends, developments and needs in the fundraising market, also in the area of online fundraising o Manages and maintains contact with media agencies, advertising agencies, producers and educational institutions. Briefs, evaluates and manages the agencies. o Gives advice on the usage of means of communication and communication actions and supports its implementation o Undertakes adequate action on external and internal developments which can be of influence on brand awareness and image of Cordaid and translates these developments to communication advice to stakeholders o Communicates activities, planning and expected results and coordinates these with stakeholders in the organization, management and external parties Applications based on meeting all the above requirements, along with a cover letter, certified copies of academic/professional certificates, an up-to-date CV, names and contacts of three referees should be sent not later than 25 March 2014, COB, to; The Country Director CORDAD P O Box 40278, 00100 Nairobi Or by email to [email protected]
