JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Quality Control Manager Poulsbo, WA TRAITS AND IDEAL SKILL SETS: The Quality Manager is responsible for developing and managing the Quality Department. Additionally, Quality Manager will lead change and drive results through process improvements and the development and maintenance of the company’s quality program (quality assurance and quality control). •Enhance and improve the quality of the company’s products and services by establishing, maintaining and optimizing an effective quality program (supplier quality, receiving, in-process, final inspections, entire QA/QC function). •Direct and lead all quality department personnel. Assume responsibility for managing workforce effectively and efficiently. •Implement problem solving tools, prevention methods, quality-at-the-source and continual improvement techniques such as NPI (new product introduction), CO (change order), incoming inspection process, NCR (nonconforming reporting), SPC (statistical process control), and calibration control. •Utilize hand inspection tools to periodically inspect and train quality staff on usage techniques. •Coordinate and influence the implementation of the quality program throughout all departments within the company, from management to production. •Interact routinely with all functional areas as well as with customers and suppliers. •Implement the performance measurements necessary to effectively evaluate organizational performance and trends in product quality, services, customer satisfaction and the cost of poor quality. Use the results of performance evaluation to target improvement efforts. •Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports. •Lead ISO certification •Oversee the effective documentation and implementation of the quality program to assure compliance with customer requirements and the standards set by the company. •Develop, execute and analyze quality-reporting measures. •Report on quality issues, trends and losses. •Participate in quality audits. •Take part in the supplier qualification process and on-going review of their capabilities and quality managements systems to ensure desired level of performance. •Maintain a corrective action system to analyze and correct nonconforming conditions and complaints (CAR). •Assist in investigating all customer complaints and interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and ensure that effective corrective action is implemented. •Compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities. •Develop and maintain quality procedures for products and processes. Implement spot checks to verify compliance. •Identify and work on a portfolio of project(s) to improve operational processes and build system efficiencies. QUALIFICATIONS: B.S. in Engineering/Applied Science/Industrial Technology or a related degree required. Certified CQE or CQM is highly desired; as is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB). Experience working with ISO-9000 or in a regulated environment and quality methods and submissions process, including APQP, PPAP and FMEA. Ability to read and interpret blueprints / engineering drawings and model, GD&T skills and proficiency in AutoCad, Inventor or similar. Some experience with Root Cause Analysis is recommended. Proficient knowledge of and use of: Digital Micrometers, Micrometers, Blade Micrometers , Dial Calipers , Digital Calipers , Gauge Pins , Pin Micrometers , Surface plates , Height Stands, Comparator, Manual CMM, Thread Plugs, Thread Rings, Function Gauges, Bore Gages, Bench Centers This is a permanent position that will offer medical, dental, 401k, profit sharing, and sick and annual leave.
