JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Boring Mill Operator SUMMARY To machine or drill details per the customer supplied print, sketch or verbal instruction to the specified dimensions. Must be knowledgeable in print reading, dimensional accuracy and basic shop math. Must be able to drill and tap per the Boring Mill Leaders instructions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Pick up details to be machined from the holding area. Inform Boring Mill leader of non-conforming material covered. Assist shop floor personnel with machining needs. Make sure area of shop is kept neat and clean. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job. SERVICE AND INSTALLATION POLICY As a worldwide full service supplier, Customer is responsible to provide installation and service as required by our customer. Therefore, our employees must be able to perform installations and/or service at any of our customer facilities worldwide. Some installations will be short term and others may be several months. In such cases when long term installations are required, Customer Supervision will assign employees accordingly. Depending on location, service and installations may include compensation. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Maintains basic use and applications skills for shop math. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
