JOB OPPORTUNITY Harvest Camp Coordinator Term: Short Term Contract (4 weeks) Salary: Dependent upon Experience Posting Date: August 1, 2013 Closing Date: August 9, 2013 Overview Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for coordinating the annual Kluane First Nation Harvest Camp, taking place August 28-30th, 2013 Accountabilities • Coordinate traditional activities for all age groups (children to Elders) for the duration of the camp • Coordinate with the Lands Department the review of the Fish and Wildlife Act, Land Use Planning and Traditional Knowledge Policy • Coordinate with the KFN Public Works Department all details to set up, maintain and take down camp • Hire and oversee necessary personnel (i.e. cooks, camp helpers) • Advertise and communicate the event with the community and KFN citizens • Develop and monitor budget • Attend Harvest Camp to oversee events and be the point of contact for any specific needs that arise • Follow up with invoices and necessary cheque requisitions • Develop a final report regarding Harvest Camp Qualifications • Experience in coordinating special events • Ability to self-direct and troubleshoot • Ability to manage and direct others, as necessary Conditions of Employment Valid Class 5 Yukon Driver`s license, Criminal Records Check Candidates can submit their resume in confidence to Andrea Kerr @ [email protected] Thank you in advance for your application, however only qualified candidates will be contacted.
