JOB OPPORTUNITY The Edmonds School District has a part-time interpreter position open. We are a regional DHH Program with 63 deaf and hard of hearing students. We also provide interpreter access to a significant number of Deaf staff, parents and community members. There are currently 16 contracted interpreters within the district; they are an active supportive group often setting up workshops, NIC study preparation groups, so there are lots of opportunities to develop skills. We currently are in need of: 17 hrs/week; REMAINDER OF 14-15 SCHOOL YR ONLY M/W 9:15-2pm; T/Th-11:10-3:50; **Above lists the position as currently posted. The needs as of today have increased. M/W has the option of starting at as early as 8am and T/Th has the option of starting as early as 10:40am** Also, we are always in need of substitute interpreter positions throughout the school year. Hours and age of students/clients vary and can meet a variety of schedules. We are looking for certified interpreters or interpreters who can meet the new educational interpreter standards of 3.5 or higher on the EIPA.
