JOBS in GOLDEN LAND Kiva Coordinator Intern Kiva Coordinator Intern Term: 3 months contract, full time (contract ends in Jan 2015) Location: Proximity office (and willingness to travel) Ideal start date: As soon as possible; no later than 1 Nov 2014 Key objectives for the Kiva Coordinator Intern: The Kiva Coordinator Intern is a dedicated staff member who supports the Kiva program and directs an organization’s Kiva-related work. Duties and Responsibilities ● Borrower Profiles: The KC is responsible for all Borrower Profiles (loans) that are posted to Kiva. ○ Directs the work of field staff related to collecting information for Kiva Borrower Profiles. This includes overseeing the flow of information from the field and to Kiva. ○ Writes or oversees the writing of Borrower Profiles and posts or supervisors the posting of the profiles to PA2. ○ Ensures that profiles meet Kiva’s policies. ○ Monitors the progress and fundraising of loans on the Kiva website. ○ Resolves loans that have been flagged as “issue” loans and coordinates with Kiva’s Partner Support team on issue loans. ○ Works with Kiva’s Partner Support team regarding profiles to be defaulted. ● Repayment Reporting: The KC oversees the monthly repayment reporting process. ○ Works with the appropriate MIS and Finance staff (as well as any other relevant staff) to ensure that the monthly repayment report is generated and accurate. ○ Ensures that the repayment report is uploaded to PA2 by the 12th of each month and works with the appropriate staff to resolve any warnings or errors. ● Journaling: The KC oversees the journaling process for all Kiva loans. ○ Responsible for monitoring which loans have journals due. ○ Directs the work of field staff related to collecting information for journals. ○ Writes or oversees the writing of journals and posts or supervisors the posting of the journals to PA2. ● Client Waiver: The KC is responsible for implementation of Kiva’s Client Waiver. ○ Ensures that all Kiva clients understand and have signed the Client Waiver. ○ Trains field staff about the Client Waiver and obtaining client consent. ○ Responsible for storage of the Client Waiver. ● Kiva Fellows: The KC is responsible for working with and supporting Kiva Fellows placed at the organization. ○ Works with Kiva to request and plan for Kiva Fellows. ○ Acts as the main point of contact for the Kiva Fellow once the Fellow has arrived at the organization. ○ Supports the completion of projects on the Kiva Fellows’ workplan. ● Borrower Verifications: The KC is responsible for working with Kiva to coordinate and implement Borrower Verifications (BVs), spot checks, and other operational monitoring. ○ Works with Kiva to schedule and plan the BV. ○ Works with the Kiva Fellow or contractor who is implementing the BV, ensuring that the Fellow or contractor have the necessary information to complete their work. This includes assisting with the logistical planning of field visits. What Competencies and Traits Make a Successful candidate? ● Good at inspiring others and motivating other staff. ● Good at coordinating and managing staff, including field staff. ● Strong leadership and problem solving skills ● Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines and respond to emails/requests in a timely manner. ● Strong communication skills; comfortable coordinating/communicating with Kiva staff. ● Strong writing skills in a language that Kiva supports (English and Burmese). ● Comfortable using computers and the Internet, learning new technologies, and using word processing and photo editing software. ● Familiarity with basic accounting and loan principles. ● Enthusiastic, creative, and willing to learn!
