JOHN CARPENTER THEY LIVE And tonight review is of They Live! This was released in 1988 and is basically famous for its ultra left wing politics! The main character played by Rowdy Roddy Piper find some alien sun glasses which allow him to see the world as it really is, IE a fake masquerade based on alien mind control. He realises he alone can save the world from total control and tries to get his friend Frank to put on said sunglasses but he REALLY doesnt want to wear them! Anyhow it turns out the whole world is being controlled by subliminal alien brain washing and he rebels to take them out. The main part of this film is basic satire on Capitalism and how we are all being forced to work jobs we hate and buy $hit we dont need.
