JONAH AND THE PEOPLE OF NINEVEH. Jonah 3:1-10 Jonah obeyed God, went to Nineveh and proclaimed the word of God. He saidOnly forty days more and Nineveh will be overthrown. Friends, this people complied. They believed God, then, they declared a fast, put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least . Even the animals were involved. In verse 10,God saw their efforts to renounce their evil ways. And God relented about the disaster which he had threatened to bring on them, and did not bring it. My beloved friends, one greater than Jonah has been given to us, He is our Lord Jesus Christ, He died on the cross for our sins and He is always at the door of our hearts knocking for us to open and welcome Him IN. In this period of Lent, what effort are you making to renounce your evil ways, that habitual sin, that behaviour that is irritating in Gods eyes. Why cant you key-in, open the door of your heart, mortify your flesh this period and surrender totally that sin to the Master and He will transform you. CHEERS!
