JONES COUNTY, GA — A woman says that her ten-month old puppy was shot in the head after asking officers not to shoot it — twice. While she was at the department, making a report, she explained: “The puppy may jump, we have been trying to get her out of that,” Peed explained, stating that the dogs were friendly puppies. She said the officers laughed and told her not to worry about it. Unconvinced, she emphasized again: “PLEASE don’t shoot my dogs, they are my babies.” Meanwhile her roommate, Kyle, was outside with the dogs as the sheriff’s black charger pulled up. The 10-week-old Ammo, a pit bull / mastiff mix, sniffed up to investigate. Kyle says that an officer shot at the dog several times almost immediately after exiting his vehicle. It was Sergeant Little of the Jones County Sheriff’s Department. Ammo was struck in the head with a .40 caliber slug.
