JOSE MOURINHO FUMES At His Mis-FIRING Strikers! The future of Fernando Torres is hanging by a thread after he was left out of Chelseas starting line up against PSG. Torres, a £50million signing from Liverpool in January 2011, was not selected to start the quarter-final first leg at Parc des Princes, with Andre Schurrle preferred as a false nine. Chelsea went on to lose the game 3-1 but Mourinho revealed after the game he had no option but to play Schurrle as his main strikers are not up to the job. Samuel Etoo was unavailable through injury, but Mourinho clearly has no faith in Torres or Demba Ba and was left to glance enviously at a PSG side featuring Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi. Im not happy with my strikers performances, so I have to try things, Mourinho said. With Andre at least I know we have one more player to have the ball, we have one more player to associate with the other players. Football is also about scoring goals. That is for strikers, for real strikers. I had to try. Mourinho has been linked with the likes of Cavani and Radamel Falcao and a top quality striker is sure to be his priority when the transfer window opens.
