SLPP Strongmen Debunk Facebook ‘Josephine Koroma’ By Aruna Turay & Augustine Samba Feb 6, 2014, 17:20 Very senior members of the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) such as former Vice President Solomon Ekuma Berewa, former National Chairman and Leader John Oponjo Benjamin and former Presidential flagbearer aspirant, Andrew Keilli have debunked lies doctored by a FACEBOOK imposter, ‘Josephine Koroma’. It can be recalled that an imposter using the name ‘Josephine Koroma’ on FACBOOK, recently alleged that senior SLPP members including John Oponjo Benjamin, Andrew Keilli, Allie Bangura, Isatu J. Kabbah, Bernadette Lahai, Alpha Timbo, Suliaman Jalloh, Sahr Nyama, Ambassador Blell and a host of others on Friday 31st January 2014, held a secret meeting at Solomon Berewa’s residence at Goderich to plot against Julius Maada Bio. The prankster further alleged that all those in the meeting agreed that they are going to establish a separate SLPP Secretariat to operate independently from the SLPP Headquarters on Wallace Johnson Street. The fake also wrote of how an issue which was discussed lengthily was the plans for flagbearship race whether they should contest individually or have a joint bid. Speaking to Awareness Times on separate telephone interviews on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th February 2014, the three senior politicians referred to the allegations as fake, unfounded and doctored by some evil-minded and ill-motivated failed politicians who want to see the party’s downfall. Maada Bio: Master Schemer whose campaigners deploy terrible lies Former Vice President, Solomon Ekuma Berewa confirmed he hosted a meeting of SLPP members on Friday 31st January but hastened to state that it was not meant to plot against anybody. He said as elderly members of the party, they will not seat by and watch the party driving towards the wrong path. He said the meeting he hosted was for them to map out strategies and the way forward to unite the party. “The purpose of the meeting I hosted was to deliberate on issues affecting our party and how to address them prior to the 2017/18 elections” Mr. Berewa stated. He acknowledged that the SLPP has numerous problems and as elders of the party, they will not sit and allow these problems to continue tearing them apart. The former vice president said he was too mature to sit in a meeting that was held to plot on issues that will continue to tear the party apart. He used the interview to advice the fake rumor mongers to join them in uniting that party rather than disuniting it in such an unpatriotic manner.
