JOYCE BANDA ORDERS GOVERNMENT TO CLOSE FOR TWO WEEKS AS CASHGATE EFFECTS HIT MALAWI The worst is yet to come from acting Malawi President Joyce Hilda Mtila Banda. She has ordered that all government operations be halted for two weeks in order to make some savings for the country, we can confidently reveal. This follows Finance Minister Maxwell Mkwezalamba’s recent communication to the President that government has run out of money to discharge its duties. The Finance Minister held a meeting in State House with interim President Banda where he called upon the acting leader to scale down her daily travels in order to make some savings for Capital Hill operations. However, ‘Mrs. I Don’t Know’ as acting President Banda has become to be popularly known amongst Malawians turned down the proposal. She blatantly told the Finance Minister that she could not risk her political campaign by staying idle in State House. Instead, she suggested to the Finance Minister if sending civil servants on an extended holiday would be option, a proposal that Mkwezalamba, a highly internationally respected economist reluctantly agreed. The President has since instructed Government Chief Secretary Hawa Ndilowe to announce the holiday in about a week’s time. According to our impeccable sources in the Office of President and Cabinet, the authorities have agreed to disguise Mrs. Banda’s extended holiday as part Easter festivity holidays. Ironically, the Easter festive period in itself is a holiday but acting President Banda would like to make that period even longer claiming her government would like to give the country’s populace, enough time to pray ahead of the May 20th polls. If effected, the extended holiday will be the second within a period of 3 months. In December 2013, civil servants were also sent home for an extended period to make some more savings for the government. In the last 2 years that she has been in power, interim President Joyce Hilda Mtila Banda leading her two sons Roy and Geoffrey Kachale and her party’s inner circle have stolen billions in taxpayers and donor money. She is however currently being shielded from exposure by British High Commissioner to Malawi, Michael Nevin. Last year, all of Malawi’s international donor partners pulled out of the country due to high levels of corruption, fraud and looting spearheaded by acting President Joyce Hilda Mtila Banda.
