JOb: Children’s Hunger Alliance Position Description Position: Wellness Coordinator, Columbus Kids: Ready, Set, Learn FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: ECNE Project Manager Qualifications: BA Degree in early childhood education, child development or social work with at least one year of experience in social services. Prior experience in an early learning setting is strongly preferred. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of the local social services community and familiarity with specific issues related to the needs of and services for young children and their families. Ability to build and sustain productive relationships with diverse individuals, groups, organizations and communities. Must be able to demonstrate ability to manage time, be on time, and communicate effectively when schedule changes are required. Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and presentational. Ability to explain, educate and persuade. Ability to be self-directed – position requires reliability, consistency and follow-through. Computer literate – must be familiar with word-processing and spreadsheet software. Must be able to work in multiple geographic locations within Columbus and have reliable transportation. Must show an appreciation for and commitment to diversity. Must be available to work evenings and weekends. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Establish a professional relationship with local early learning professionals, social service agencies and community groups. Review scores of completed ASQ and ASQ-SE forms and provide written results for parents/caregivers. Schedule meetings with parents/caregivers and early learning professionals to review results of ASQ and ASQ-SE. Provide referral information to parents and explain follow-up plan to them. Assist parents in making contact with individual referrals, as needed. Maintain contact with parents and attempt to locate them if they move or leave the initiative. Enter documentation regarding all contacts in the Columbus Kids’ database. Complete all required documentation (reports, case notes, etc.) in a timely and accurate fashion. Assist with outreach efforts such as conducting recruitment sessions or providing informational sessions for parent groups, as time permits. Represent the project in a professional manner to the community. Attend all Columbus Kids’ meetings and events.
